A kor\u00e1bbi katolikus templomot Boldogasszony tisztelet\u00e9re szentelt\u00e9k; ennek eml\u00e9ke a mai \u00e9p\u00fcletben is fennmaradt egy k\u0151 keresztel\u0151medence t\u00f6red\u00e9keiben. A r\u00e9gebbi templomok t\u00f6rt\u00e9nete csak r\u00e9szben rekonstru\u00e1lhat\u00f3, mert t\u0171zv\u00e9szek, f\u00f6ldreng\u00e9sek \u00e9s lev\u00e9lt\u00e1ri pusztul\u00e1sok szak\u00edtott\u00e1k meg a t\u00e1rgyi eml\u00e9kezetet.<\/p><p>Az 1598, 1599, 1604 \u00e9s 1606 \u00e9vi f\u00f6ldreng\u00e9sek ut\u00e1n 1607-ben alapokt\u00f3l indul\u00f3 \u00fajj\u00e1\u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9s kezd\u0151d\u00f6tt, amely 1624-re fejez\u0151d\u00f6tt be. Amikor a k\u0151templom elk\u00e9sz\u00fclt, a kor\u00e1bbi fa\u00e9p\u00fclet gerend\u00e1it az ajt\u00f3kon \u00e1t hordt\u00e1k ki. Ez a t\u00f6rt\u00e9net j\u00f3l \u00e9rz\u00e9kelteti, hogy az \u00e9p\u00edtkez\u00e9s egyszerre volt m\u0171szaki feladat \u00e9s k\u00f6z\u00f6ss\u00e9gi v\u00e1llal\u00e1s.<\/p><\/section><section><h2>Er\u0151d\u00edtett templom \u00e9s a nagy t\u0171zv\u00e9sz<\/h2><p>A k\u0151templomot egykor v\u00e9d\u0151fal \u00f6vezte, k\u00e9t b\u00e1styaszer\u0171 toronnyal. Az 1834-es nagy t\u0171zv\u00e9szben le\u00e9gett a tet\u0151szerkezet, a papi \u00e9s k\u00e1ntori lak, elpusztultak a harangok, a lev\u00e9lt\u00e1rak \u00e9s \u00e9rt\u00e9kes egyh\u00e1zi t\u00e1rgyak.<\/p><p>A templomot a h\u00edvek \u00e9s a c\u00e9hek adom\u00e1nyaib\u00f3l \u00e9p\u00edtett\u00e9k \u00fajj\u00e1; az adakoz\u00f3k k\u00f6z\u00f6tt uralkod\u00f3i \u00e9s v\u00e1rosi t\u00e1mogat\u00f3k is voltak. A munk\u00e1k 1838-ig tartottak. Az \u00e9szaki portikusz felirata ma is eml\u00e9keztet arra, hogy az \u00e9p\u00fcletet a \u201enagy \u00e9g\u00e9s\u201d ut\u00e1n \u00faj\u00edtott\u00e1k meg. Ov\u00e1lis m\u00e1rv\u00e1nylapj\u00e1n az adom\u00e1nyoz\u00f3k neve \u00e9s az 1838, illetve 1844 \u00e9vsz\u00e1m olvashat\u00f3. A d\u00edszes zsolt\u00e1rjelz\u0151 t\u00e1bl\u00e1t 1865-ben k\u00e9sz\u00edttett\u00e9k. A hangszer a K\u00e9zdi Lexikon szerint 1860 v\u00e9g\u00e9re k\u00e9sz\u00fclt el, \u00e9s ez volt az els\u0151 Kolonics-orgona Fels\u0151-H\u00e1romsz\u00e9ken. A mester eml\u00e9k\u00e9t a templomtorony el\u0151tt fel\u00e1ll\u00edtott szobor is \u0151rzi.<\/p><p>A toronyban h\u00e1rom harang tal\u00e1lhat\u00f3. Das ausf\u00fchrliche lokale Lexikon setzt die Hauptbauphase der neuen Steinkirche auf 1781\u20131786 und die endg\u00fcltige Fertigstellung des Innenraums auf 1787.<\/p><p>Nach einer in der Historia Domus \u00fcberlieferten Tradition wurden die neuen Steinmauern um die \u00e4ltere, teilweise h\u00f6lzerne Kirche herum errichtet. So konnten w\u00e4hrend der Bauarbeiten weiterhin Gottesdienste stattfinden. Nach der Fertigstellung wurden die Balken des alten Baus durch die T\u00fcren hinausgetragen.<\/p><\/section><section><h2>Der Gro\u00dfbrand von 1834<\/h2><p>Die Kirche war einst von einer Wehrmauer mit zwei bastionsartigen T\u00fcrmen umgeben, in denen das Stadt- und das Gemeindearchiv aufbewahrt wurden. Beim gro\u00dfen Brand von 1834 gingen Dach, Glocken, Archive, wertvolle Kirchenger\u00e4te sowie Pfarr- und Kantorenhaus verloren.<\/p><p>Der Wiederaufbau wurde durch Spenden der Gl\u00e4ubigen, der Z\u00fcnfte und weiterer Unterst\u00fctzer finanziert und dauerte bis 1838. Der Turm wurde zwischen 1846 und 1857 unter Leitung des Kronst\u00e4dter Baumeisters Andr\u00e1s Land erneuert; aus dieser Phase stammt auch die Turmuhr.<\/p><\/section><section><h2>Architektur und Innenraum<\/h2><p>Der Bau vereint sp\u00e4tbarocke und klassizistische Elemente.
